“After a few discussions with her, we saw the potential of creating a virtual dining club program,” Bradley said. Stories can be anything from how you started your business to detailing a special family recipe. Preserving with a Purpose is a videography company that records people’s stories, memories and words of wisdom so that they can be recorded and handed down to future generations. The program is limited to ten registrants, and each registrant will receive a meal kit and questions.Ĭlaire Richardson, owner of Preserving with Purpose, brought the idea to the library. Participants will also receive a Zoom invitation to a live virtual dining experience where they can share highlights from their experiences preparing the featured recipe and share stories. “At this time, the library is purchasing all the necessary supplies for the program.” “Each kit will include a recipe card for a specific dish as well as ingredients to create that dish,” Jennifer Bradley, Adult Programming and Collections librarian explained. The monthly program will provide participants with a recipe kit to prepare a featured meal, as well as three engaging questions that will help facilitate conversation around the dinner table. Don’t be afraid to give every child in the family, even the youngest of the group, a job to do like setting the table, putting dirty dishes in the sink or dishwasher, or even helping with the cooking. Family mealtime is a great opportunity for all family members to participate in preparing the food as well as cleanup, the website said.
